A completed project?

It is true, it may actually happen this week.

I’m known for my attention deficit style of knitting, almost always having 5+ projects going at once, rarely to ever see completion. I’m good with hats, gloves, and mittens, and that’s about it. Scarves rarely wind up on anyone’s neck. Sweaters generally never get sleeves. Anything fingering weight…well you see where this is going. So this is something I’m consciously trying to change. Nothing feels better than finishing a project you’ve worked hard on. And nothing is more saddening than seeing yarn wasting away on half finished projects.

Given my history with projects larger than a bread box, tackling the Hemlock Ring Blanket was a bit risky. But I’ve been determined to finish it, even now where the rounds are at 400+ stitches each. That blanket WILL be done soon! To get to where brooklyntweed ended his, I have 18 rounds to go (plus whatever edging I decide on). Of course the stitches/round increase as I move outwards making it ever more slow going. But I am forcing myself, no matter what, to knit AT LEAST 4 rounds each night this week, and then edging over the weekend. I ordered and received blocking wires last week in preparation for blocking this monster. I’m all prepped for history in the making here people! Make sure I stick to it!

On that note, knitting with a REALLY bad sunburn in 90+ degree Fahrenheit heat is not pleasant. Trust me on this one. I got the worst sunburn of my life yesterday, and that EcoWool rubbing on fresh sunburn could prove to be a very useful form of torture.
